The Hack of Hazzard[]

Wanted for robbery, fraud, and forgery. He steals a gold certificate worth $100,000.

While driving into Hazzard, he nearly gets into an accident. Harry Ray asks for him to slow down. He reminds Harry Ray that they’re going to be having posters out on them soon. He says the sooner that they and the Gold Certificate is out of state the better. Seeing Harry Ray is looking at the certificate he tells him to put it away.

As they go they hear a cop car fall in behind them and see Cletus. When Harry Ray scolds him he remarks it’s only temporary and to put his gun away. Harry reminds him that they can’t be caught. He tells him to put his home address on the envelope and stamp it. He says maybe they can reach a mail box before the cop reaches them. They drive through a construction site, losing the cop and celebrate. However they see Cooter and swerve to avoid hitting him, crashing into a bush. Cooter approaches them, saying it looks like they got off pretty lucky as they were on the wrong side of the road. He and Harry check to see their radiator is shot. He tells Cooter he got himself a customer with them if he wants and asks if he can fix it. Cooter says he can fix anything but he’s already got a customer. He says he’ll pick them up on his way back but it will be a while. He asks Cooter if there is anyway to get into town and Cooter says he’ll call him a taxi. After Cooter calls and says the taxi is coming, he tells his partner to get the envelope.

Bo and Luke pull up in the cab and Bo jumps out saying ‘good morning gentlemen and where can we take you this fine day?’ as he opens the door for them. He tells Bo they can take him to town ‘if you got one in these parts’ which Bo says yes they have a town. He gets in the cab and is stunned by the condition of the back seat. Luke says they are sorry about that and are planning to get it fixed. They take off and notice Cletus come after the cab. He tells the boys there’s a $20 in it for them if they lose him and Bo tells him to save his money. Luke elaborates, saying ‘what my cousin’s trying to say is’ they will lose him but it’s on the house, as it’s a little game they play. Bo asks if they are in trouble and he remarks he might say that, ‘with our wives’. He says they stayed over a day at the convention, which makes Bo laugh. The boys lose Cletus.

They arrive in Town and Bo and Luke explain it will be 50 cents. He tells Harry to pay them. They are approached by Rosco, who tells them to get out. When Harry asks if they have been made he says he’s not about to take any chances and to give him the envelope. He takes it and hides it in the seat. As they get out, he hits Rosco with the door who tells him not to threaten him. Rosco asks if he knows them and he says ‘no Sir’ as it’s their first time in Hazzard. Rosco tells them to be on their way as he has business with the boys. They watch from a distance as Rosco goes to get a citation book and Bo and Luke drive away. When Harry gets upset at them leaving he tells him to relax as the way that the sheriff was eyeballing them, the certificate is safer where it is. He says when they’re car is ready they will pick it up.

They head over to the cab company to see the cab isn’t there. He remarks it seems like the cab’s out on call. Harry suggests they go find Cooter. They go to the garage and greet Cooter, who apologizes that their car isn’t’ ready yet. He remarks that he wonders if Cooter can help them out and says they are looking for the cab. Cooter says the cab was impounded, all except the back seat which is at Uncle Charlie’s Upholstery. He remarks ‘come to think of it, good buddy’ before saying their car could use some work and asks where that is. Cooter gives them directions.

They arrive at Uncle Charlie’s and tie him up. They begin looking around for the back seat of the cab. Harry calls him over when he finds the seat. Before they can search it however, they hear someone arrive and hide under a sheet. They hear Boss and Rosco look until Bo and Luke arrive. After they hear Boss and Rosco announce that Bo and Luke have the certificate and chase them out. They use the back door. They circle around and run directly into the boys, Luke jumping on him and knocking him down. Bo says they will take care of them later before they flee. As he gets up, he is collided into by Boss Hogg, knocking him down again. They get back up and go back into Uncle Charlies, confirming that the certificate is indeed gone. Harry agrees that Bo and Luke must have it and he says they will pick up their car and go get them and Cooter might just know where they live.

They return to the garage and after paying Cooter, he thanks him. He asks Cooter if he knows where they might find the young cab drivers and Cooter tells them ‘The Duke boys? Anywhere between here and Chicasaw County’. He asks if he can help them and he says they left a letter in the back seat of the cab and the boys might have found it. Cooter says it might have got mixed up with his mail. Relieved, they get in the car and he remarks that with that letter in the post office they are in Fat City. He agrees to stop so Harry can call home.

He waits while Harry calls home, and Harry tells him his wife said the house is under surveillance. He tells Harry now they are going to get the letter back from the post office. They walk in to see Jesse, and he asks about Daisy who just left but is told to take a number and show some ID. Harry hands him a number and pulls out the ID. He asks where Daisy just went and Jesse says she took the mail to Colonial City and does it every afternoon at 3. He asks where Colonial City is and Jesse gives him directions and they rush after her, him driving.

They catch up to Daisy and overtake her. They approach her on foot just as Luke tells her over the CB that they are coming. He takes the CB from her and tells her to get out of the jeep. He tells Harry to get the mail and when asked what they are going to do about Daisy, he says they are taking her with them in case someone decides to play hero. They get in the car and leave. He reaches a fork and asks Daisy which way the roads go. Daisy says Shoveltown. They decide to go there. On the way he asks Daisy what kind of place is it and Daisy says it ‘ain’t no kind of place’. She says it’s an old deserted mining town and he says that’s good, there is no law to slow them down.

They arrive in Shoveltown, but Bo and Luke catch up. They take Daisy and the mail bag to a covered location. When Bo and Luke move they shoot at them. When Harry says the boys aren’t shooting back, he says they are probably scared of hitting the girl. When the boys move to the General, they shoot again. Harry says they can’t stay forever and he tells him to cover him as he checks around. When asked where is he going, he says to find a better shot at the boys. He climbs onto a building roof. When Daisy escapes he shoots at her. He yells to get into the barn and as they run, a dynamite arrow goes off behind them. They get inside and climb into the loft.

Bo and Luke come charging in with a mining cart. They open fire from the loft but the boys take cover. They become alarmed when they lose track of the boys. Suddenly the loft collapses due to the boys and they fall to the ground. Bo and him flight. Bo manages to knock him down and pull him back up as Rosco rolls in. He is startled by Rosco firing his gun and then his arms are tied up by Bo. They are arrested.
