Under Mr. Lipton’s orders, Pete and Mick wait outside of the Capitol City Airport for the guards transporting the Osborne diamond necklace. Seeing the guards, they get out of their car before chloroforming the guards from behind and hiding them in the bushes. They take the case with the necklace. Mick and Pete take the bag to Mr. Lipton and Wilbur, remarking it worked like a charm as always. Mr. Lipton tells them to disappear for a few days and they go to leave. However they stop when Daisy and Lulu confront Mr. Lipton about the case being Lulu’s. Mr. Lipton gives them the case to avoid making a scene. When the women leave, Mr. Lipton asks who they were and he says he never saw them before. Lipton orders them to follow them and to get the case back. They get in their car and follow Bo and Luke in the General Lee.

While driving, he remarks that the General Lee is going pretty fast and it’s hard to keep up with them on those roads, to which Mick just starts shooting out the window. The General takes off and they lose them.

While he drives, he calls Mr. Lipton on the car phone. He is told to find where the orange car is and he agrees. He is then instructed to get the necklace and kill the two women as Lipton can’t afford them identifying him.

After finding out the General Lee belonged to the Dukes, Pete and Mick head to the Duke Farm and tear the house apart looking for the necklace. He empties the pantry. As they leave, Mick asks what do they do now and he says they need to find the fat lady.

They go to town and he describes Lulu to a woman, who tells him who she is and where she lives.

After checking the street to ensure they have no unwanted guests, they go into the Hogg Family home to see Lulu and Daisy. He tells them not to make a sound and to hand over the case they took at the airport. Mick finds the case and shows him it’s empty. He asks the girls where it is, telling them to talk. Lulu says that her husband is taking the necklace to it’s rightful owner. He smirks, saying ‘I’ll bet he is’ before adding that they will keep the ladies company until the husband does exactly that. Daisy says they are telling him the truth and for them to stop waving the guns around.

They take the ladies outside but are startled by Bo and Luke’s arrival in the General. Daisy elbows him and runs away. They flee into their car. Once they escape he uses the radio, saying he doesn’t know their handle but he wants to talk to the owners of the orange car. Luke responds, giving his name and says for him to come back so they can teach him manners. He tells Luke to knock off the hero stuff as they just want the necklace. Luke says they ain’t got it and he tells Luke to find it or they will come back to take care of the ladies. Luke agrees and says if they get the necklace how do they get it to him. He says that is real smart, calling Luke ‘hayseed’ and saying that he’ll tell Luke that after they get it and not to involve the police. He tells them they have an hour.

Pete and Mick find a place to wait on the side of the road for Luke to call. Mr. Lipton calls for a progress report and he says they are working on it and should have the necklace within the hour. Lipton asks if he took care of the women and he says he will as soon as they get the necklace. Lipton says to make sure they do. He hangs up before checking his watch and saying it’s time to make the other call. He then grabs the radio and calls for Luke, saying if he doesn’t have his ears on the deal is off. Luke responds saying they got the necklace and he comments ‘ain’t that nice’ adding it wasn’t too hard to get. Luke asks where to meet and he promises his ‘sacred oath’ not to harm Daisy and Lulu. He tells Luke to meet him at a bridge two miles north of town over the ‘dry wash’. Luke asks if he means Willet’s bridge and he confirms. He says in thirty minutes he wants the car to drive across the bridge with the necklace tossed out and that the car keeps driving. He says to remember no cops, no tricks, or the girls are dead.

They go to the bridge and wait. The car passes, tossing out the necklace. He picks up the necklace telling Mick that they got it. Bo yells that ain’t all they got before dropping down on them. Luke and him fight and Luke knocks him out. He is arrested by Enos.

The Sheriff, Rosco, gives him his one phone call and he calls Mr. Lipton, informing him that they were arrested. Lipton asks why did he call him as they can trace the number, calling him a fool. He reminds him that they can’t if they talk less than 30 seconds. Lipton hangs up and he’s returned to his cell.
