"Targets: Daisy and Lulu" is the eighth episode of the sixth season of The Dukes Of Hazzard.

Summary

Daisy and Lulu return from a shopping trip that they took to New Orleans. At the airport, Lulu accidentally picks up a suitcase that is identical to her suitcase, and it turns out to have a stolen $250,000 diamond necklace in it. When the thieves and their boss, Mr. Lipton (Robert Phalen), learn that Lulu and Daisy have the suitcase in their possession, they begin pursuing Lulu and Daisy, bent on using whatever means necessary to get the necklace back. Boss Hogg wants the necklace so that he can sell it to his crooked cousin, Big Dan Hogg (Marty Zagon), for $25,000 -- not realizing how much the necklace is really worth. Bo, Luke and Enos -- later joined by Boss and Rosco -- devise a plan to trap Lipton and his men, and return the necklace to its owner, knowing that Lipton and his men have threatened to kill Daisy and Lulu if they fail to hand over the necklace, and if any entrapment efforts are detected.

Plot

Balladeer: Now first, ain’t nobody chasing the General Lee. It’s just that a very unusual occurrence has occurred. The airplane’s arriving on time at the Capitol City Airport. So naturally, Bo and Luke are late to pick up Daisy and Lulu who are on that plane. Now that sure does look like the case that Lulu said she’s missing, but it ain’t. That fellow’s carrying the famous Osborne diamond necklace to a special showing in Nashville. And I’m already smelling trouble. Now that stuff is chloroform folks. It sure do beat counting sheep when you’re laying in bed with a big eye.

Luke drives as he and Bo head to the airport, Bo saying it was nice of Lulu to take Daisy to New Orleans with her. Luke agrees especially since it was all expenses paid. Bo says it was a little far to go for dresses but Luke says Boss can afford it and it is his and Lulu’s 25th wedding anniversary. Bo jokes about how there is no present big enough for that.

Capitol City Airport

Daisy and Lulu notice that Lulu is missing her small carry on. Lulu goes to find the case as Daisy volunteers to stay with their bags. Some guards exit the airport with a bag that looks exactly like the bag Lulu is missing. Two men ambush the guards, taking the case. They head toward the street where Lulu returns to Daisy. Lulu assumes someone walked off with hit before seeing the bag in the two men’s hands. Daisy and Lulu approach the men as they give the case to their boss Mr. Lipton, and Lulu says that it is her case. Mr. Lipton insists they are mistaken, and Daisy proposes they open the bag and confirm the contents to see who rightfully owns it. Mr. Lipton sees a police officer nearby and quickly assures the ladies that he made a mistake and he sees now it is not his bag. The girls take it and Bo and Luke arrive. Mr. Lipton orders his men to get the case back. Bo and Luke load the General and leave with the girls. The two men follow and we see Lulu’s actual case on a luggage rack, being left behind.

Road

Bo drives toward Hazzard, the girls telling them about the trip. Pete and Mick start shooting at them, alerting Bo to their presence. The girls and Luke get down while Bo speeds off and loses them. Bo assures them they will get home safely and the four try to figure out why someone would shoot at them. Daisy jokes that they didn’t’ have to plan such a great reception and Bo jokes that they didn’t want the boys money since they’re broke.

The two call back to their boss, informing him they lost the General. Mr. Lipton tells them to find the car, get the necklace and kill the two women.

Hogg Family Home

Daisy and Lulu go inside, excited to try on the dresses. Bo and Luke unload the General, Luke stacking bags onto Bo. Bo protests, saying it’s too heavy but Luke says Bo can handle it. The carry on is dropped and pops open to show the necklace. Luke yells at Bo until they see the item and wonder if the men shooting at them saw Lulu buy it. Bo says they need to call Rosco, but Rosco and Boss pull up. The boys greet them and Boss thanks them for picking up Lulu but throws it in their faces that he isn’t giving them a tip. The boys say they don’t care about that and that they were shot at. Boss and Rosco become frantic about Lulu’s safety but the boys assure them that Lulu is fine and show them the necklace. Boss and Rosco are shocked by the necklace, Boss asking whose money Lulu used. Boss goes inside and Rosco tries to follow but the boys stop him to make a report. Rosco says for them to go talk to Enos and the boys agree if Rosco carries in the bags. They stack everything on Rosco and direct him into the house as they leave.

Rosco goes inside, where Boss is looking at the necklace only to trip into them. They both fall and Boss locates the necklace, informing Rosco that they are real diamonds. Lulu and Daisy come downstairs and Lulu assumes the necklace is a gift. Boss accuses her of buying the necklace and Daisy realizes that they got the wrong case at the airport and this belongs to the man with the flower in his jacket. Boss promises to return the necklace and Daisy and Lulu go back upstairs. Boss tells Rosco that he is going to fence the necklace before calling Big Dan.

Luke realizes the guys are in town and will go after Boss’ house next. Enos becomes frantic and calls for Rosco.

The men force Daisy and Lulu out of the house toward the car. The General comes tearing around the corner and Daisy and Lulu use the distraction to escape. The two men get into their car and drive away. Bo attempts to chase after them but Lulu runs into the street, forcing Bo to run off and lose a tire. The girls run over and the boys say they are glad they are alright but they will have no chance of catching the men now. The boys fill Lulu and Daisy in on what they learned. Daisy tells the boys that Boss has the necklace. Pete calls the boys over the radio, saying he doesn’t know who they are but all he and his partner wants is the necklace. They give Bo and Luke an hour to find the necklace and give it to them or they will kill Daisy and Lulu. Daisy says they are bluffing, but Luke says he isn’t’ sure. He says no matter what, they have to find Boss and the necklace. Bo asks that Luke wants to hand it over and Luke denies it, saying they need it for bait. Daisy tells them that Boss went to the Boar’s Nest. Luke tells Daisy to call Jesse while they fix the tire.

Mr. Lipton calls Pete asking if they have his necklace and Pete says they will have it within the hour. Lipton reminds them to make sure they kill the girls and call him when they are done. Pete checks the time and confirms an hour has passed. He calls for Luke, who says they got the necklace. Pete agrees to meet them at a bridge two miles north of town for the change. Luke says that is Willet Bridge. Pete says in thirty minutes the car comes across the bridge with the necklace being tossed out and the car doesn’t stop.

Willet’s Bridge

Bo and Luke have Enos wear a plaid shirt and drive the General. The boys hang off the passenger side, dropping off the car as Enos passes the bridge and tossing the necklace. The boys head back to see Daisy and Lulu.

Police Department

Boss and Rosco talk at the department, sad about having to turn the diamonds over. The boys come in and inform them that there is a third man. Rosco is upset that anyone would be so low as to try and harm Daisy and Lulu. Bo takes every shortcut he can and Luke keeps calling. Jesse tells him to try another channel and Daisy responds, informing them that the third man is following her. She says she is a mile from Hastey’s crossroads and the boys say they’re almost there. The men ram into Dixie and Bo honks the horn, getting their attention. They give up the chase but Bo continues to chase them. Lipton shoots at Bo and loses control of the car, going up on two wheels from a hay pile before dropping down and sliding off the road. Jesse scolds Bo, saying he knows better than that. The boys help Jesse out as Daisy and Lulu arrive followed by Boss and Rosco. Jesse says that those guys will come back for the girls. Rosco accidentally upsets them more. Luke says he has a plan of giving them Lulu and Daisy. Everyone becomes upset and Luke quickly explains the idea better. Boss becomes alarmed and tries to run away but Luke drags him back.

Hogg Family Home

Enos, Luke, Bo, and Jesse all excitedly watch as Daisy and Lulu call down Boss. Boss is wearing a pink dress and high heels, complaining about pantyhose and the bra. Bo leans on Luke to laugh and Enos tries to keep from chuckling. They call Rosco down, who is wearing a blue dress and trips on the last step. Rosco compliment’s Boss’ legs. Rosco says it won’t work and they make lousy decoys. Luke says from a distance it might work and they just need to get the men into the open. Boss and Rosco agree to do this and Jesse says he’s proud of them. Daisy and Lulu say this isn’t necessary and they can do it but the men all refuse. Rosco asks if anyone will notice he didn’t shave his legs and Boss says for him to just wiggle his hips.

The two men arrive and spot Rosco and Boss. They assume it’s the girls and stop. While the men get out, Bo, Luke, and Enos start moving in. The men come up behind Rosco and Boss and when the two turn around, they spot others, seeing it’s a trap. Lipton decides to take Boss and Rosco as hostages.

They get back onto the road and Boss wonders where the Dukes are. They hear a car and are happy to see the General. Bo stops and the two confirm they are fine. All five get into the car, Luke helping Rosco and Bo helping Boss.
