Summary[]

Bo and Luke find some of the money from a $1,000,000 hijacking that happened five years ago -- a flood had washed the money away after the hijacking, and now the search is on when Phil Ackley (Rick Hill), an old Marine buddy of Luke's, comes to Hazzard to help the Dukes find the rest of the money. It turns out that it was Phil and his accomplices, Tommy Dunkirk (Sam Melville) and Kate Ackley (Simone Griffeth), who pulled off the hijacking.

Plot[]

Balladeer: When it comes to cross county racing, General Lee moves out real smart. But running is only half of cross-country racing. The other half is knowing the course.

Cooter goes to tow them out while Luke teases Bo. When Bo and Luke are tying up the General, Luke finds a wad of cash. The three celebrate.

Boss is upset as the boys leave.

Duke Farm

The Dukes check the paper and sees that they boys made the first page. As they read they learn that the money the boys found was connected to the ‘Hazzard County hijacking’ five years before. Daisy remarks they are famous, still broke but famous.

Balladeer: As soon as that story broke, just about every fortune hunter and treasure seeker who could read headed for Hazzard like bears to a honeycomb. Including a few with a personal score to settle. But that’s getting ahead of the story.

Jail

Kate, Phil, and Tommy drive into Hazzard. Boss reads the paper to learn the same thing as the Dukes did. Rosco is petting Flash and Boss reminds him about the bank shipment and he tells Rosco he smells money. Rosco reminds him the Dukes found the money and Boss says it doesn’t matter if the boys robbed the money he’s still going to arrest them for the crime anyway.

Road

Rosco paints his car to be cameo and dresses Flash in army surplus. He follows Bo and Luke, who are riding around in the General. The boys see him and Bo intentionally splashes him in a puddle. Phil and his friends see they are being followed. Phil says they have to lose him but the man doesn’t leave. Kate decides to see if any locals will come to their help. She calls on the C.B. and Bo and Luke answer the call. The boys head over and run the blue sedan off. The other car stops and they all get out. Luke and Phil happily reunite and Luke introduces Bo as Phil introduces his friends. Phil explains whoever was chasing them had been watching them for days. The boys invite the three to the Farm and they agree, saying they will follow the boys.

Duke Farm

While the stranger spies on them, Phil and the others are introduced to Jesse and Daisy. The group explains that Kate was the dispatcher five years ago for the armored car and that the company thought it was an inside job and that Kate organized the hijacking. They say they are trying to clear their name by finding the money and returning it. Luke offers for him and Bo to help them and Jesse says they will all be staying there. Daisy says Kate will share her room and the others will have the parlor. Luke says they shouldn’t refuse. As they all settle in, Rosco watches the Farm to see Bo and Luke leave with Phil and the others. As Rosco tries to get out of the tree he falls out. Rosco falls in behind the General and the investigator falls in behind Rosco. Bo sees Rosco, amused. Bo tells everyone to hang on and tells Rosco by as he takes off, intending to lose him. Bo jumps the creek and Rosco follows as does the agent. Rosco calls Cletus and tells him to head to Meadow Road. Seeing Cletus coming the other way, Bo tricks Cletus and Rosco into running each other off the road. The agent sees them and check on them before continuing to follow the Dukes.

Town of Hazzard

As the treasure hunters pour in, Cletus goes around town trying to sell maps. Boss charges $10 per car to enter Hazzard and only allows parking for $5 an hour. When a man tries to buy a map, Cletus refuses to make change for the $10 bill and gives him two maps instead. He goes to see Boss, asking about how long he has to do this. Boss takes the money from him and makes him continue to sell maps.

Creek

Bo and Luke arrive at the creek with the others. Bo points out exactly where they found the money an he asks if they think the rest could have flowed further downstream. Luke says if it had it would already been found. The boys explain the other way was a swamp that occurred due to a flood right after the hijacking. Kate says they need to keep looking but Bo says it’s getting too late and they can start in the morning.

Duke Farm

Bo, Luke, Phil and his friends arrive back at the farm. Kate goes into Daisy’s bedroom to freshen up but is attacked by the investigator who was searching the room. Bo comes running to see what is happening and the man throws a chair at Bo before diving out the window. Luke, Phil, and Tommy run in, the first two ignoring Bo to check on Kate while Tommy helps take the chair off him. Luke asks Bo if he got a look at the man which Bo says no. He looks out the window to say the man is gone. Phil says that man will be back, or anyone else who will think they can lead them to the money. Luke says they will find it first and he, Bo, and Tommy go to look at the map; leaving Kate and Phil alone. They talk about who the man could be, Kate figuring he is a cop but Phil says if he was he would have had a warrant. Kate says she’s scared but he says they aren’t backing down He says sooner or later Luke will lead him to a landmark he recognizes and they will get the money. He and Kate kiss, not knowing that Jesse, who just returned to the farm, spots them outside.

Town of Hazzard

The next morning Boss sees the people still coming to Hazzard. In his hotel he starts raising the prices to make money.

Duke Farm

Daisy serves Jesse and Luke breakfast and both are thinking about Kate. Daisy sees both so deep in thought and asks what is bothering them. Jesse asks why she would think that and Daisy says neither have spoken. Jesse says sometimes it’s best not to say anything than to say something you’ll be sorry for. Daisy comments that she knows what Luke is thinking about and when he asks about Kate she says Luke fell for her so fast that for a minute she thought it was Bo. Kate comes in and greets everyone. Luke admits she doesn’t look anything like the snapshot and she says that she wasn’t a blonde then. Jesse remarks that it sounds like the General is ready to go and Luke says they are taking both cars. Kate says she isn’t going and tells them that Tommy is staying too as Luke, Bo, and Phil leave. Jesse says that’s good because he is leaving too, surprising Daisy. Daisy asks where he’s going and he says to get oats. She says he did that yesterday and he says he’s getting alfalfa cake.

Road

Seeing Bo and Phil in the General and Luke in another car, he follows them.

Hazzard Gazette

Jesse arrives at the Hazzard Gazette and asks Miz Tisdale to find all the information on the hijacking. She gets the papers for him and tries to flirt with him as he looks through them. Jesse learns that Kate’s name is actually Sandra. Furious, he heads back to the farm, trying to call the boys along the way. Bo realizes the CB is acting up. Bo says they must be too far away.

Duke Farm

Jesse returns to the farm and Tommy sees he’s upset. Daisy talks to Sandra, telling her that Bo falls in love at least once a week but with Luke it’s something special. Jesse storms in and Daisy remarks he looks mad enough to chew nails. He confirms he is and confronts Sandra for lying to them. Jesse shows Daisy the paper and reveals that he knows her real name and that she isn’t Phil’s sister. He also says they were the hijackers. Tommy and Sandra tie up Daisy and Jesse before leaving with the jeep.

Creek

Bo, Luke, and Phil continue up the creek with Rosco following. They find that the bridge is washed out and stop. Bo and Luke say that the money is probably at Bear Point but with the bridge out it would take an hour and a half at least to go to another bridge. Phil expresses concern and Luke says they can jump across. Bo says there is no lift and Luke says they can build a ramp by packing up dirt. Phil goes to get the shovels and Bo and Luke decide to call Jesse. They try but when they get no answer Bo gets worried. Phil agrees to let him use his car to go check on them. Luke says he and Phil will make the jump and Bo will go get Jesse and Daisy and meet up with them.

Bo leaves and Rosco follows him. Bo calls Cooter as he drives and asks for help. Bo expresses worry and Cooter agrees to meet him. He drops the car he was towing, Tyrone’s, and heads to the farm. Rosco heads away from Bo and goes to the Boar’s Nest

Boar’s Nest

Rosco arrives and tells boss that he has news. Boss scolds him for trying to steal his ribs an Rosco tells him that the money is at Bear Point. Rosco explains that Luke can’t get out quickly. Boss says he’ll be waiting for them with Rosco. Boss says they can’t keep all the money because they need to use some to frame the Dukes. Boss and Rosco leave to head up to Bear Point.

Duke Farm

Bo and Cooter arrive at the Farm and go inside to see Jesse and Daisy tied up. They untie them and the two fill them in. Daisy says Luke doesn’t suspect anything but Cooter doubts that. Jesse tries to reach Luke, but Phil cuts the CB wires. The Dukes head out with Cooter, who says if there is going to be a fight he sure don’t want to miss it. Jesse grabs his shot gun and they all pile in Phil’s car.

Creek

Luke and Phil jump over the creek. Bo heads the same way as the General went and the other two go around. Boss and Rosco cut around town and the agent follows Rosco. Luke and Phil start walking around and go to split up but Luke tackles Phil as he is about to step on a bear trap. They decide to stay together. Bo reaches the jumping point and makes the jump. Boss, Rosco, and Alex get closer. Luke and Phil find the money. Sandra and Tommy arrive, confirming Luke’s earlier suspicions that something wasn’t right as there is no way they would get Dixie from Daisy without a fight. They tell Luke Daisy and Jesse are fine but Luke says he’s going to go see. Phil pulls a gun on him and tells him to give them the money. Luke refuses. Bo arrives and Luke kicks the gun away from Phil. Luke and Phil start fighting as Tommy and Sandra go for the gun. Bo goes after Tommy and Sandra tries to attack Bo from behind but is attacked by Daisy. The three Dukes win. Rosco, Boss, and Alex show up. Rosco arrests all three while Boss claims the money. However the agent shows up and claims the money as evidence, taking it from Boss.

Balladeer: Danged if that fella with the blue sedan didn’t turn out to be a special investigator for the armored car company. How about that? Boss didn’t get one thin dime of that hijack money, but for once he made Rosco an equal partner, by selling him at half interest a ten year supply of Hazzard treasure maps. You know what they’re good for. Old Luke learns that a girl ain’t always as pretty inside as the package that she’s wrapped in and that an old friend don’t always remain that way. Folks do change. But things did pick up that night. ‘Cause Boss Hogg’s celebrity speed trap snagged another one: Roy Orbison. He was passing through from here to there.

All three are arrested by Rosco and the Investigator. Rosco is given a stack of maps but trips and spills them everywhere. Bo and Daisy try to comfort Luke after what happened.

Boar’s Nest

After catching Roy Orbison he plays pretty woman with Daisy sitting next to him. Cletus, Boss, Bo, Luke, and Cooter are at the bar while Jimmy is at the bar and Jesse is watching at a table. When Roy growls at Daisy she hugs him, flattered. After Bo and Luke invite him to have a drink and he explains he can’t. However Boss says that the song only covered his first ticket and he needs to sing for his second. He tells the boys he has time for that beer after all and Bo says not until after the second song.
