"Twin Trouble" is the ninth episode of the sixth season of The Dukes Of Hazzard.
After returning from a Marine Corps reunion, Luke chases a woman who robbed a jewelry store in Capitol City, and at the same time, her identical twin sister is with Bo on the side of the road in a different part of the county, which provides an alibi for the twins, Cindy (Randi Brough) and Sandy Ballou (Candi Brough). That causes a feud between Luke and Bo. Luke knows that the woman he chased committed the robbery, and Bo refuses to believe Luke, because Bo thinks that the woman Luke said he chased in Capitol City is the same woman who was on the side of the road with Bo. It becomes a tale of trying to figure out how the same woman could be in two places at once. Things are straightened out when Bo and Luke realize that they are dealing with twins. Also, in an effort to save money, Rosco and Enos get their patrol cars taken away from them by Boss Hogg, who gives them a pair of three-wheel ATVs to drive.
Balladeer: Ever have one of them days when it looks like nothing can go wrong, and everything does? You see Bo was headed back to Hazzard from Greenville to get tractor parts. While over in Capitol City at the Jewelry store, there was a little business going on that was gonna cause Bo and Luke more trouble than a fox in a hen house. You see, Luke, in Uncle Jesse’s pickup was headed back through Capitol City from a reunion with his ol’ marine outfit in hot Atlanta. Now folks, you’re watching a lesson in economics. Getting’ something for nothing. I’ll bet it don’t work.
Bo drives around in the General Lee, whistling. He passes a sign saying he is 30 miles out.
Capitol City Jewelry Store
An employee of the jewelry store shows a woman in number of gems.
Luke starts heading toward Capitol City to get home, entering the town.
Capitol City Jewelry Store
The attendant gets a phone call. While answering it the woman grabs all the gems. He concludes that whoever called has the wrong number before noticing the woman running off with the gems. He runs outside as she speeds away and Luke Duke pulls up. After hearing what happened, Luke chases off after the woman.
Luke catches up to the car and forces her to pull over. He is angry but becomes stunned to see the driver was a woman. She drops her purse and Luke tries to pick it up but she hits him with the car door hard enough to nearly knock him out. Luke yells for her to stop but she drives away.
The woman, Sandy, uses her car phone to call her twin sister Cindy. She explains that Cindy’s call was perfect and they got the gems but she was spotted and they need to use their backup plan. Cindy promises to get her an alibi in Hazzard who will testify that Sandy was there and not able to rob the store.
Luke, still hurt, gets to the CB and calls for Sheriff Floyd.
While driving down the road, Bo spots Cindy. Excited, he stops and gets out asking if she is having car trouble. Cindy tells him she needs to be in Hazzard by 11 and her car died. Bo decides to look at it, saying he wrote the book on dumb cars. They introduce themselves and Cindy looks at her watch before showing it to Bo, saying it’s almost 11. Bo starts looking over the car.
Luke and Sheriff Floyd look over the pickup and Luke explains what happened. Floyd asks what Luke is doing out of Hazzard and since when was he law abiding. Offended, Luke shows him his papers and says he has nothing to hide. Floyd agrees to look into the robber and sends Luke home.
Bo finishes with the car, which starts up. Cindy asks if Bo can tell her where the nearest phone is so she can call her mom. Bo agrees but both are startled by the sound of sirens. Cindy gets out of the car, thinking they found her, but Bo thinks she is just surprised and tells her not to worry as it’s just the Sheriff department, waving to and greeting Rosco and Enos as they drive by chasing another car. Bo then leads her toward town.
Rosco radios Enos, asking what speed the car they were chasing was going. Enos says it was 56 miles per hour which is only one over the limit. Rosco says that is enough for him as they need all the citations they can. The two attempt to block the road by driving side by side. The car turns and comes toward them and both turn off the road, flipping their cars.
Town of Hazzard
Cindy calls Sandy while Bo lays on the hood of the General. Cindy tells Sandy that they have an alibi and that Bo will swear she was with him if anyone claims differently. After they hang up, Bo offers to take her over to the hotel to get her settled for the night, saying they only got the one hotel in town. Bo then asks if he can show her around and Cindy agrees. They get in the General and head across the square.
Boss exits the bank before seeing Cooter pull up with Enos and Rosco along with their trashed cars. Upset he runs over asking how bad is it and how much is it going to cost. Cooter says Rosco’s car will cost about 700 and Enos’ will run 400. Boss is upset and Rosco tries to calm him. Boss says for Cooter to fix the patrol cars and give him the keys as they are going into storage. Enos and Rosco get out, upset and Rosco asks if Boss is going to try and put them on horses again. Boss shows them three wheelers, making Cooter roll his eyes. Rosco says they are for children and Boss orders them to go on patrol. Rosco says he’s doing it under protest. Enos is excited but Rosco is annoyed. As the two attempt to drive off, they drive recklessly, nearly causing a number of accidents. Rosco accidentally chases Boss into the county building as well.
Bo gets to the Duke Farm, delivering the tractor parts and unloading them while Jesse and Daisy talk to Cindy. When Cindy says she is grateful to Bo for his help, Jesse says that is just how people there are. Daisy says Bo would have helped Cindy even if she wasn’t so cute to which Bo thanks her. Bo says he promised to show Cindy around and they leave the farm just as Luke is arriving. Luke is shocked to see Cindy and rushes to ask Daisy and Jesse about it. He tells them that Cindy just robbed a jewelry store, confusing Jesse and Daisy before he takes off after Bo. Jesse tries to tell Luke to make sure but Luke is already gone. Jesse remarks there is never a dull moment with them two around.
Luke chases after Bo and catches up. Bo asks if he’s trying for a race and Luke tells Bo to pull over. Bo tries to explain he’s a little busy. Luke insists it’s important but they nearly hit a truck due to not paying attention. They stop and Bo asks what is so important. Luke tells him he saw Cindy robbing a bank early, confusing and upsetting Bo. Cindy insists she was with Bo and Luke insists it was her. Cindy and Bo both explain that they have been together for the last two hours, Bo saying that the time Luke says she was robbing a bank he was with her on highway 7. Luke asks if he was sure and Bo says he’s way off base. Luke insists again, frustrating Bo who tells Luke he’ll see Luke at the farm before leaving. Luke watches them go before heading back to the farm.
Enos and Rosco continue driving when they spot Luke in the pickup. Rosco tells Luke to pull over and Luke says he didn’t do anything wrong. Enos and Rosco attempt their roadblock again but overturn the three wheelers, making Luke laugh. The two get back on their vehicles and attempt to follow Luke again, taking a shortcut Rosco knows. However there is a tree down that knocks them off the vehicles. The bikes continue to run without them and chase them.

After checking that Bo is gone, Cindy comes back out and gets in her car, driving away.
Luke gets back to the farm and Daisy asks where Bo is. Luke admits he doesn’t know. Jesse asks if they got everything straightened out and Luke says he can’t believe it. He says that Bo insists Cindy was with him but he knows she was in Capitol City. Daisy suggests maybe Luke is wrong but Luke says he’s never been more sure of anything. Jesse says Bo wouldn’t lie to him and Capitol City is in Hatchape County. Daisy adds that the girl can’t be in two places at once. Luke says he knows those facts and decides to call Sheriff Floyd.
Town of Hazzard

Cash is heading to Hazzard.
Sandy drives her car out to a nearby gully. After getting there she pushes the car down the road and off the cliff so that it is destroyed. She walks back to the hideout.
Luke talks to Floyd on the phone, who confirms the description of the girl. When Floyd asks if Luke has any information on the girl, Luke says she is in Hazzard, her name is Cindy, and she is with Bo. Daisy and Jesse are not happy with Luke for telling the Sheriff that when they don’t know for sure. Luke tells them that no one wants to believe Bo more than him but it’s the same. Hearing the General pull up, Daisy comments ‘oh boy’ knowing Bo is going to be upset.
Bo comes into the house but seeing how they are all looking at him Bo says he can tell Luke got them on his side. Daisy tells Bo they aren’t’ taking anyone’s side. Jesse says that Luke did what he thought he had to do. Bo asks what Luke did and Luke admits he turned her over to Floyd. Bo becomes angry, saying he told Luke that Cindy was with him. Luke says that witnesses confirmed it and Bo says he is telling Luke that she was with him during the robbery. Luke reminds Bo that he doesn’t have a watch and maybe the girls lied to him about the time. Bo accuses him of being confused when he got hit in the head and Luke gets up saying it doesn’t take much to mess with Bo’s head. Bo tells him to find out what it does take and Jesse and Daisy quickly get between the boys. Jesse orders them to talk it out. Bo says he’s done talking and he leaves.
Rosco tries to talk to Boss about going back to the cars but Boss argues that Rosco is going to have to get used to it as they are cheep. The phone rings and Boss puts the phone on the conference call machine. Rosco doesn’t understand how it works but Floyd explains that $100,000 of gems were stolen and he needs Rosco to find the suspect, a woman named Cindy who was with Bo Duke, and to arrest her. Rosco refuses but Boss assures Floyd that Rosco will do it. After hanging up with Floyd, Boss says he wants to talk to the girl and offer to fence the gems.
Luke leaves for town to get the pickup fixed and meet Sheriff Floyd. Jesse says he and Daisy are coming to referee a fight if they run into Bo. Daisy says she doesn’t understand how they can both be so sure. Luke says one of them has to be wrong and Floyd will cast the deciding vote. Luke drives the pickup and Daisy and Jesse go in Dixie.

Bo and Cindy exit the hotel and Bo says he needs to talk to Cindy about a few things. They notice the police officers and Bo quickly ushers her into the General, saying that is what they needed to talk about. As Bo drives, Boss and Rosco recognize the girl and chase after them. Bo tells Cindy about what Luke did and Cindy asks why are they running as she is innocent. Rosco yells after Bo, telling him to pull over. Bo continues to drive around the square before getting stopped by a truck blocking the road at Rhuebottom's. Boss nearly crashes into the General, flipping onto the hood. Bo yells at him to get off before he caves the whole thing in. Boss and Rosco ignore Bo talking and order him to drive over to the Police Department, flanking him so Bo can’t take off before arresting Cindy. Bo tries to assure her that he’ll get her out of there as the rest of the Dukes arrive. They ask Bo what happened and Bo expresses his anger at Luke. Luke says Bo needs to trust him and Bo asks why should he do that since Luke isn’t trusting him. He excuses himself to go talk to the new lawyer and Jesse says that they will help Bo pay whatever fee needed. Bo leaves. Daisy says she never thought she would see the day they would stop believing in each other.
Boss and Rosco interrogate Cindy and she tells them she knows nothing about it and she was with Bo when the robbery happened. Boss and Rosco insist on her talking but Cindy says she has never been to Capitol City. Rosco accidently blinds himself with a light and Cindy demands a lawyer. Realizing Cindy won’t talk, Boss announces that they have made a mistake and they let Cindy go. When she leaves Boss tells Rosco that they are going to follow Cindy. Rosco becomes upset about the bike but Boss says there is too much running on this and to get his car. Rosco is happy and tells Flash to watch the station.
Cooter looks over the truck, saying it won’t take much and he won’t charge them. Daisy says they cant’ let Cooter do that and Cooter says he just wishes fixing Bo and Luke would be that easy. Luke says he doesn’t understand it because he knows one of them are wrong but he knows it’s not him. Daisy notices that Cindy was let go. Seeing Boss and Rosco following them, Luke decides to follow. Cindy and Luke arrive at the cabin. Inside Calloway offers 20 thousand and Sandy is upset but he tells her they are hot and he can’t move them for a while. Luke is shocked and realizes this is why he and Bo were both so sure, they are twins. The girls keep Luke’s attention while Calloway comes up behind him and knocks him out with a wooden box.
Boss and Rosco sit beside the road and hear another car. Rosco tries to get them to stop but the car keeps driving by. Boss says it is probably a tourist but Rosco says it’s probably someone Boss foreclosed on. As the two bicker they hear another car and Bo comes by. Bo stops asking where Luke and the girl went. Boss asks what he means and Bo asks Rosco, who gives him directions. Bo takes off, upsetting Rosco and Boss. The two sit back down. Meanwhile Jesse and Daisy are still following down the road a bit.

Bo looks up at the high road to see Luke unconscious in the pickup. Bo becomes upset and speeds over to save Luke. The three realize the game is up as Bo is their alibi. Bo gets near the road ahead of Luke before climbing out and running over to where the pickup will pass. He jumps down into the bed before climbing into the cab and pushing Luke over. He manages to stop the truck before waking Luke up. Luke asks what happened and Bo says he was going to ask him. Luke explains that the girls are twins and they were both right. Luke points out to them as the three leave and they chase after them in the General.
Daisy and Jesse pass Calloway and the girls, stopping in confusion. Boss and Rosco wonder what is going on but Bo and Luke pull up. They say for Daisy to go after Calloway and they will get the girls. Daisy agrees but everyone else protests. Boss asks what is going on but Jesse wants to know if the boys made up. The boys confirm it and they resume the chase.
Bo apologizes to Luke and Luke says he’s sorry to. Bo says maybe this will teach Luke a lesson that the next time he says something Luke will believe him. Luke gives him an unamused look and they both laugh. The two catch up to the girls, who are surprised to see them. Daisy meanwhile catches up to Calloway and cuts him off. The boys stop and help them out. Bo remarks they really made a fool of him and they take the girls into custody.
Balladeer: And that’s how the Duke boys solved the mystery of the twin beauties. Sheriff Floyd arrived in time to take over his prisoners. Boss gave Rosco and Enos back their patrol cars, them three wheelers is way too dangerous for Hazzard. But most important of all the Dukes had maybe learnt something about trust which I guess nobody is ever too old to learn. Even in Hazzard.
